I just deleted this thread by accident, trying to delete some of my own stuff Sad . I'm really sorry for that but it was be accident (had a terrible day). I regret it mostly for Nats and Mirs contributions, that were at least of some value. Hope we'll keep on talking, at least in SL. Bye for now.

Triss, can you delete ALL my contributions somehow? The more I read them, the more I'm ashamed of them. Why did I ever loose my time with this? What I say silly, silly, silly... I insist that you delete everything I wrote. It's all worth NOTHING! I don't think Nat and Mir will object, they felt uneasy enough with all this ridiculous nonsens. I wish to offer them my apologies and thank them for the lessons, and I promise that from now on I will try to listen instead of rambling like a fool. Again, I'm so sorry.... I mean this folks, I just hope you'll forgive me. Bye for now.

Dude, calm down.

Your writing's fine. Have a little confidence in yourself.

Hope your next days will be better then yesterday. It's turning spring, so get your nose out the door, get a nice new (non philosophy :O ) book or try to make a trip with your wife so you have a change of scenery. It would do you good.

Thanks Mir. Well, it's just... things are not going well here. My wife has a "dip" (MS is horror),  I'm not feeling well myself, there are troubles on the job, and there's a general feeling of "wat does it all matter?". Ok, does not matter indeed. Do what you like, as long as you don't harm other people Eye-wink . I'll be back...

   D'oh, and I hadn't even read

D'oh, and I hadn't even read this thread yet...

 webmaster part:

I'm afraid at this time I can not get this thread back, since it hadn't been backed up yet, and drupal does not (yet?) have an undelete function.... so unless y'all remember what you said, that's lost I'm afraid... I was however working on a way to have more frequent backups, in order to avoid such things...
Also, in important nuance: if you are the starter of a thread, and you delete the first post, the whole thread will be gone... This is due to the fact that the first post is a so called "node", and all further replies are  comments attached to that... If you want to get rid of what you said earlier, it is best to edit the post, and leave a comment as to why you removed it, which is also much clearer for future readers of a topic. This way, it's also much easier for me to restore the post in case of an error, since that change would be saved (as a socalled revision).
In answer to your question: I can delete all you said, but I do want to urge you to think about it a second time, because I don't think anything has been said that warrants such harsh measures....

personal reply:

I'm sorry to hear that things haven't been as good for you lately as they might have been. Everyone goes through times that most things seem futile, but usually that doesn't last, and you might be glad afterwards that you didn't wipe/forget/... everything taht seemed so futile during this period...

My most sincere well wishes for you and yours!

   Thanks a lot for your

Thanks a lot for your concern, Triss. I'm glad that at least one Babylonian thought about our difficult situation. As to deleting what I wrote or not, I sincerely couldn't care less. But maybe Nat or Mir will, and I'm very sorry I deleted their sensible replies in the last thread. You better ask them but I have the vague feeling that for them it will not matter a lot either. This being said, you can as well leave everything as it is, and not even take the trouble of erasing. You make the choice; use a coin to help you  decide  ;-) . Byeeee Smiling

   Heee mossiou Trisse, toi

Heee mossiou Trisse, toi y'en a vouloir des sous?? Aah, the Great Depression song:

Once I built a tower, up to the sun, brick, and rivet, and lime;

Once I built a tower, now it's done. Brother, can you spare a dime?

Of course Triss' towers were virtual zigguraths, but the Apocalypse has struck Babylon and maybe Catchabula's Revelations had something to do with it? I just want to be careful with God from now on, because you never know if Babylon will not be treated like Sodom and Gomorrah. If no money available pray to the Mammon, and sacrifice five oxen. I'll be buck, I mean back.

   Hey, cheer up my friend.

Hey, cheer up my friend. Feeling bad about your problems doesn't solve them. Feeling bad about yourself even less so.

Your posts so far have been interesting. You're good at starting interesting discussions.

Don't ever worry about what god(s) think of you. If your behavior and opinion really mattered to them, they could at least be reasonable and show themselves, no? Also, if god punished those who insult him, I would be a little heap of ashes by now.

But of course one should not push ones luck: http://edition.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/24/gibson.passion/
I guess someone above didn't like the way He was portrayed?

How are you going to pay for the oxen?

   Well, I have a constructive

Well, I have a constructive proposition. Why not delete THIS tread and let the rest as it is, as an invitation for hmm other adventurers? The thread that we're in now is neither informative nor explorative, and my personal state of mind is not of the slightest importance for the world, so why not delete THIS thread and perhaps start another with a broader relevance? Hey, I may even start it, and let criticism roll...  Eye-wink. As to the oxen, it's obvious you buy them on credit and you pay them back as soon as the Mammon has compensated you. This is clearly an act of faith, without which sacrifice would be pointless, no? As I said before: give it a try. But don't forget it's Mammom's Divine right to refuse you His favours. If it doesn't work with oxen try with virgins...

.. :?

Actually none is lost of previous thread either except the smileys, tend to save my correspondence. (Can not stand to write in browsers, tend to blast a bunch of text on page in notepad first, including copy-paste whatever mail/post I respond to. Imagine all the wisdom accumulated over years on my little computer, if only God existed to read it, he'd commit suicide.) So consider before posting on the internet.

It's kinda impolite to edit or even remove your own text that others responded to already.

>I'm glad that at least one Babylonian thought about our difficult situation.

Oh, nice manners you have, you're not the only one that goes through hard/desperate moments in life, maybe even more then you, yet you're not so inquiring to others either, so it would be a good idea to tone down the self pitty.

>so why not delete THIS thread and perhaps start another with a broader relevance? Hey, I may even start it, and let criticism roll...

.. Good for you, I'm not going to take the time to respond, though.

Mir.

   Mir, in certain

Mir, in certain circumstances it is just difficult to think of others. My wife can hardly walk after spending six months in bed because of Multiple Sclerosis (we went to the neurologist this very afternoon). And I can hardly help her because I'm almost paralysed myself by some form of Parkinson's Disease. Sometimes this is a bit irritating to say the least, and it causes mood changes that may be difficult to understand for many people, especially for the outsiders, the "healthy ones". But I suppose you have enough problems yourself to understand what I mean, and whatever be the state of your health I wish that unlike us you will have a relatively happy old age. As to the threads, apart from some kind of distraction and a physical exercise (a game called "hit the right button"), they were a sincere try to explore important issues and keep my (small) mind in use. I thank both you and Nat to give a well-willing reply that stimulated me to answer, thus enabling me to distract myself a bit from daily reality. And I did regret erasing your replies, because indeed both yours and Nat's were "better" than mine, demonstrating a sharper intellect and a more profound insight, especially on such important matters (if you consider them as NOT important: anything you like...). As to the other Babylonians, I think they are all nice and friendly people, morally conscious and believing in high ideals. I completely associate with that and my belief in Love will never be shaken, thanks to a person who may be the only "great mind" around: the priestess. You can do what you like Mir, but if I prefer to "loose my time" and add another thread, I think that's my right no, as it is your right not to answer. Or I may not do it and sneak out of Babylon all together, that's also my divine birthright. After all one does not need a virtual Babylonia and a forum, to think about what Babylonia represents, and about the fascinating riddle of Ishtar. But I think I will hang around, we'll see what the future brings...

Why is everyone so destructive these days? Even me, but at least I keep it out of Babylon.

   ooh, jokes.... jokes

ooh, jokes.... jokes good!

I'm getting a wee little bit tired about all the delete-this-thread stuff... I don't think anything has been posted that's genuinely offensive or malevolent, not enough to warrant deletion anyway.... In case you really think what is written somewhere will hurt you later on because someone might read it, I think the solution wasn ot to put it on the internet at all... i'm against censorship, so I will not start deleting stuff unless someone really goes out of bounds, or if you really really think you made a bigm istake by saying something, but again, in such cases a little self-censorship before the posting should come first...and I don't think there's much, if any, content here that is of the kind that warrants deletion.... Everyone realizes someone may go through some more difficult times, and/or express opinions in another way then he/she normally would, but that doesn't mean these thoughts can't have value and/or should be deleted immediately afterwards.... A little i-has-posted-that-and-it-can-stay self-confidence please  :)

If someone has enough material to reconstruct the thread that has been inadvertently deleted, feel free to re-create it, just make the startpost so that you can see who said what etc....or send it to me, and I'll do it.

Yes yes, I'm sorry, and I

Yes yes, I'm sorry, and I have no excuse, not even that I was drunk and desperate and feeling destructive and just acting dumb (another d-word: the devil..). Ok, what do you want more? I already gave myself fifty whiplashes, wear barbed wire around my penis and entered a religious order where you may talk 5,25 words a month. D.. , I spoke more! Oh well, back to the whiplashes...

   I, Catcha-Caballah, was on

I, Catcha-Caballah, was on the chemical junkyard on the day of the Lord, when behind me there was a great voice as of a trumpet! And It said: you dunno A, you dunno B, you're not even beginning, you're in a dead end, and besides you're trespassing, So write this down and send it to the community in Babylonia, for the wisdom of the world and as an undeniable proof of your own stupidity and ignorance. I stepped aside and let the truck pass, but I could not prevent myself to see the angel who was behind the wheel. His teeth were yellow as the sky while he was singing this hymn:

Fallen fallen, the mighty Babylon!

It has become a place of virtual hugs!

I'm not real because I have no gender

In fact I'm a man and God is a woman,

But it would be bad PR if it came out,

Although it is not so, and who f.. cares?

The noble Natlia has told you Catcha was ambitious,

But he dunno A, he dunno B,

So he is completely harmless,

And grieveously has to answer for it.

So now you will learn (wow wow wow)

Why mighty Babylon has fallen,

Although there were taverns and whores,

And soldiers and priests and bloodshed,

Just as everywhere else, making the place good to live.

It all has to do with Oswald Spengler,

Who distinguished cultures from civilizations,

The first being strong and creative and honoring values

(Expressed by slaughtering about everything: oxen, virgins, children...),

The second being cynical and sceptical and empty and weak and decadent,

And writing books and bad pastiches and believing in words

Such as Love (just a word!! No problemo!! See? Pssth! Gone! Disappeared! Away! Nothing left! Vanished!).

Let's confess: it's only because they're bored that Babylonian women ride dragons

And make themselves immortally ridiculous.

They wait for Alexander who will burn down the city for fun.

Being women this will be very exciting for them.

And the sheep on the ashes

Will mock all ancient wisdom,

And their milk will feed the lambs,

And the sun will shine over the ruins

And there will be definitely no Heavenly Jeruzalem.

There is nooo self, there is nooo soool,

There is ooonly Brahma...

(And the angel went on like this for hours,

And Catcha never got the point

So he had to cut short)

And Catcha-Caballah ate his books, got sick, tried to kill himself with a candlestick and didn't get a step further. And now he's just waiting for some skinny fellow to invite him for a ride on horseback, three of his pals already waiting outside. Copyright The Authorized Version. Hey, that's really a funny book!

   What, just a citation? But

What, just a citation? But it has been haunting me all day, so I'll spit it out here, hoping to get rid of it... "Leute, die eine Zeit lang mit Geistern umgehn, kriegen mehr Verstand" (Ludwig Tieck). Out of context of course, but yet... Nah, still stuck with it Sad . This will need surgery.
